I'm not sure if I can continue to be friends with you. I loved this book when I was in Middle School. Of course, I haven't read it since then, but still. :) Plus, there are other books in satire that you could read.

Gertie, I will read whichever genre wins. I am sure Chip could find me an appropriate Satire to read. I could find him a good horror novel to read.
Chip: I tried. I really tried to like it, to get into it. I got about 3/4 of the way through and just gave up. It was like a bad date. We just did not click. :)

No...Stephen King is not considered satire - no cheating :) I wonder if there is a way to filter your read shelf by tags to make finding books in a genre more easily.

The frustrating part is that there are lists a mile long of changes that could be made, but unless I'm not noticing them, I don't ever remember the site making improvements.

Haha! I bet it exists. But I wohld hate to ruin a good horror plot with humor - would rather just go straight to plain old satire.
Maybe we will just suffer through this time (or not as you might to want to participate) and then do horror next time. With the anti-votes (I am counting comments from you, me and Chip) satire and humor are actually tied.

I found some horror/satire books. They sound fun. Who put humor out there anyway?? This is the apocalypse. There is nothing funny.

I will abide by the wishes of the majority. If it is horror, I will probably skip a month and then just haunt the conversation thread :)
But...Gertie, if there is a tie, is there a run-off or does it become moderator choice? Or...a mish-mash where you have to find something that meets both genres?

Ah screw it, how about we make it for both topics? People can choose one or the other, or get imaginary bonus points by going for a hybrid option. I just think if we choose one, we're automatically scaring off half of our participants. I suppose Horror and Satire are kind of polarizing!
Thoughts?

Oh...I'm probably game for either topic - I'll just have to add a few more restrictions than I normally would if horror comes out on top.
Do any horror voters want to bribe me to make it a clean victory?

Who is OUT if we use the topic they don't like?
It's basically down to Horror and Satire now, in case Jordan and Michael have a preference...

Chip, I cannot be bribed (well, if there was enough wine and chocolate, ....maybe).
