Ah guys I am so done with summer! I just want my hot chocolate, my books and a fluffy blanket... Just to get cozy and relax 😭 I didn't have any motivation or courage to read any books this summer and I have to say it was an awful summer for me... So can we all agree that we want autumn and winter to come so we can read our books with the company of hot chocolate and marshmallows?

Sorry I know this is my third poll in one week but bear with me

I feel like Goodreads is overwhelming me a lot rn and it's making me feel like I need to read more, read faster, spend less time on books, etc. basically I feel like its just adding lots of pressure around reading and it's making it so I'm reading to have read a book instead of reading to actually read and enjoy the book. like I can't even remember what books I've read this year bc I wan't spending as much time on each book as I normally would so I could reach my goal faster and stick with trends. idk but it makes me feel like I'm becoming a "performative" reader if that makes any sense

I also think that it's causing me to read books that are trending instead of books that I actually want to read

SOOO BASICALLY I'm gonna delete the app from my phone for a bit until I'm feeling better abt my reading habits and then I'll prob go back (maybe?)

It's very much not the people and community (YOU GUYS ARE SO AMAZING AND I'LL MISS YOU), it's just messing up my Reading habits and I'm not enjoying reading as much
