Dune (Dune, #1)
by
"it is the beginning of the best series in science fiction, the merging of religion, politics, war, and a tastefully done ecological note is all based around superb story telling and incredible characters. I read each book dozens of times before the end because I simply did not want to let go of such amazing characters and, evidently, Herbert did not either."

Foundation (Foundation, #1)
by
"The second greatest scifi series; the entire concept of psychohistory was mindblowing and fit very neatly into what had become my outlook on life, though foundation has action and intrigue, it's in the intellectualism where this novel truly shines; merely coming up with the concepts would be a herculean task for anyone but the greeat Asimov. Further, I can't help but admire the tie in with his other novels in the end of the series. "
