The Ultimate Hitchhiker's Guide: Five Complete Novels and One Story (Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, #1-5)
by
"Follow the ridiculous adventures of Arthur Dent and his trusty companion Ford Prefect through space, time, and logical ideas that our brains can('t) comprehend. The first three books are hilarious, but after that, it begins to lose the humor, and the plot is about as easy to follow as a grain of dust in a sandstorm."

Animal Farm
by
"Not a whole lot of people know what happened before and during the Russian Revolution, but most would probably know that Russia became a communistic country. George Orwell must've thought "Hey, let's do that over, but with farm animals!" And so he did. Animal Farm is the story of the Russian Revolution, the rise of communism, and the struggles along the way, dumbed down down into the format of a kids' book. Short, sweet, and to the point, Animal Farm is a masterpiece of allegory. All 180-ish pages of it."

The Mysteries of Sherlock Holmes
by
"This book contains a collection of Arthur Conan Doyle's famous duo's exploits. Told in classic British, this book shows off just how awesome Sherlock was before Robert Downey Jr. played him."

The Last Olympian (Percy Jackson and the Olympians, #5)
by
"A fitting end to an awesome series, Percy Jackson, son of Poseidon (yes, the Greek god of old), embarks to save Western civilization from the clutches of Kronos, lord of time, once and for all. These books, being told from the point of view of a 16-year-old, are hysterical. The mythological aspects of it make for a very interesting tale."

The Lost Hero (The Heroes of Olympus, #1)
by
"Percy has saved the world (like you didn't already know), and peace has returned to the world. Sort of. Percy has disappeared, and in his place is Jason, a kid with power over lightning, and two other half-bloods, Piper and Leo. Annabeth is losing her mind, monsters have began to appear, and Jason is still trying to figure out what the heck is going on. "

The Giver (The Giver, #1)
by
"Utopia is an interesting concept, and Lois Lowry seems to love playing with this idea. Jonas is just a normal kid living in the Community, a place with no fear, no pain, and just about no emotions. On his twelfth birthday, everyone is assigned a job. Except him. His duty is to see the Giver, the keeper of all knowledge in the Community, and learn from him, to bear his burden. To learn the truth about the world in which he lives. "
