This is for sci-fi/fantasy books where the primary/promoted romantic relationships are healthy and realistically developed. There can be abusive relationships portrayed, but they have to be depicted as abuse, not encouraged or romanticized. Unfortunately, I have trouble finding these, especially in young adult books. Healthy means the relationship we're supposed to root for has no abuse and it's between consenting partners. Realistic means the relationships are based on trust and respect and aren't shoved down our throat to move the plot along. I prefer no love-at-first-sight, but that doesn't necessarily preclude healthy, so we'll let it slide. Be nice, folks!

Amuet Why isn't this list more popular? It's exactly what should be written and celebrated.

message 2: by Dev (new)

Dev i definitely disagree with some of the books on this list but i went ahead and liked everything by seanan mcguire because she is great about writing healthy relationships

Ivonne Rovira What a great list!

message 4: by Sara (new)

Sara How the hell has "The Winter King" by C.L. Wilson gotten so many votes on this list? It has plenty of dubcon scenes.

Aubrey Is there a way to downvote? Hunger Games is pretty debatable.

message 7: by Lyn15 (new)

Lyn15 A kingsmaker chronicle series should not be on this list. It glamorizes an abusive relationship…
