You didn't really read Dianetics, did you?

Yes - I am THAT sad person. I have always been interested in what makes a particular belief system tick.... not that any swing my pendulum.

I've always been curious too... but I am afraid that if I read the book I will be sucked into the cult, will give all my money away, will say good bye to everyone and everything, and will never be allowed to read another book again.

You know what a weak person I am!

Bettie That would never happen to you - we have you secured by velcro. In all honesty though, there is nowt in there but twaddle, and a lot of hate against different groups of people. Hate seems to make up a high proportion of many belief systems, which to my mind, renders them void.

So save your money and buy more books instead.

Bettie Anyone remember this bit of classic comedy

Themis-Athena (Lioness at Large) ... and it's even on the list!

(You'll forgive me for not voting on the Hubbard books -- the only lists where I'll gladly vote on those are the "Why would anyone want to devote any time to reading this?" type of lists! Not that one shouldn't be aware of what folks like Hubbard are writing of course ...)

Bettie Hahaha - Two Ronnies were fab

Have a looksie here - of very special interest as I AM the cleaning lady.

I haven't read any of you Two Ronnie entries but I shall go back and add them because it was one show I never missed.

Didn't we come to the conclusion that life was fun? Here is the endorsement.

Themis-Athena (Lioness at Large) Yes, indeed ... thanks for the memories!

So where was this recorded?

Go figure -- Bettie's very special claim to fame! :)

Funny, but I din't unnerstand the "bill hooks" gag.

ETA: The cleaning ladies is brilliant!!

message 11: by Bettie (new)

Bettie bill-hooks sounds the same as bollocks when said quickly

billhook ( ) n. An implement with a curved blade attached to a handle, used especially for clearing brush and for rough pruning.

Funnieh at that time because it was so risky to get past the BBC guardians of morality.

I thought it might be that... thanks. Looks like the Monty Python crowd started out writing for the 2 Ronnies. I'm gonna spend all afternoon on YouTube now!
