What to Expect When Expecting Cancer
A Big little book that is easy to read and hard to put down:) I mean it is a heartbreaking time for everyone when coping with a cancer diagnosis... The person with the cancer is scared, the family and friends want to help but may not be sure what to do and many wonder what can you give to someone who has just been given a cancer diagnosis? Flowers? One of the big 600 page tomes about alternative ways to treat cancer? There are so many and some of them are controversial and discourage traditional treatment. Others offer one Herbalist or Nutritional advice or another, sometimes balanced with doctors orders.... sometimes not. There is just so much information out there at this point and so many books about cancer ... each of them coping with one aspect or another. Whether technical, Inspirational, or Religious based, there are plenty of books for cancer patients and plenty for caregivers... there are books about Life with cancer and Life beyond cancer... but really none like this one which was written and is intended to be given as a gift to the cancer patient to be shared between them and their friends and family. This one book covers and offers everything in a digestible size. This is not written for medical students or people interested in one therapy or theory or another, this is a book that reaches out to the average everyday readers who have been touched or scared by a cancer diagnosis and they are looking for an experienced been there done that friend who can help without boggling their minds. Here there are no worry about controversial treatment ideas; focus is upon prevention, detection and after diagnosis organization and a return to living. Experience and Common sense are in harmonious balance with adhering to the prescribed treatment plan and following doctor’s orders. What books would you recommend to someone as a gift?
