Listopia > France: for Children and Middle Grades
Books about or set in France, from any time-period, for juvenile readers younger than YA.
Take a kid to France - to see the painted caves of Lascaux, to ride the TGV-Lyria to Dijon to try the mustard, to walk the walls of Carcassone, to cruise the canals of Strasbourg, to swim in the waters of the French Rivieria, to explore Mont St Michel, the cemetaries and monuments of Normandy, the slopes of Mont Blanc.... it's not all Paris after all. Give a kid some pre-trip perspective on the rest of this incredible country, so they appreciate that first bite of a real baguette all the more.
Extra credit for books NOT set in Paris. ;)
No travel guides, please (there are many lists for those already!).

Do books partially set in France count? I was thinking of The White Mountains.

I've maxed out my votes, so will add them here as I find more (please add them, if you have room to spare! Merci bien!):A Summer in Paris
Because I'm out of votes (and have cannibalized nearly all my votes that were also voted on by others!), I just wanted to remind any other readers about this pre-existing list for Children's Stories Set in Paris:https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/1...
I'm adding unrepresented (Parisian) titles I come across there rather than here, now, due to vote constraints. :)
I'm totally out of votes...Here's one about kids in Maine time-travelling into the French Revolution: The Golden Hour
is another I don't have space for.... however, there's an excellent France in YA Historical Fiction list where it fits rather nicely, along with others like Ward of the Sun King. :) Check out that list, too! ;)
And also: adventurous exile "A party of English schoolgirls and their teacher are trapped in France by the outbreak of the Second World War, but manage to make themselves useful while in exile"
