Thank you for referencing this book, of which I was unaware. I have just downloaded it on Kindle. David Hackett Fischer is one of my favorite historians.

John Stelwagon Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

Unfortunately, the Kindle edition had very defective content. It looked like they somehow tried to incorporate a PDF of the 1970 book, and the result was a real mish-mash. Amazon doesn't sell a print edition for less than $579.00, but I checked Barnes & Noble, where I ordered a paperback for less than $25.00 (including shipping and tax). The paperback has not yet arrived. I just hope the print is not too small, because, at my advanced age, I cannot read very small print, even with corrective lenses.
