We came to a part of highway that had been finished a year ago, but the big traffic signs were still blank. What if we suddenly noticed that all signs were blank? But I digress. I like medical mysteries, and a mystery from my own life did become a plot for a book called Healing Grace. My brother came down with a mysterious ailment and I used the germ of the idea for the story. Another idea I may follow up on sometime happened not too long ago at the local cemetery: gravediggers hit on an unmarked casket. So, so, so many ways to go with that. We also have a mysterious ancestor who just appeared in our annals. There is no record of his journey to America, which is not that unusual, but he came the same year through the same port and had the same first name as another distant relative. Too many plots...too little time. :)(less)

Hi, Vee,
I enjoyed your story. I never have a problem coming up with ideas. I have too many. I listen and read news for most of my books. Sometimes my publisher puts out a call for a certain type of story. Series are a good idea too, like yours. I'm starting to wind down, however, to make room for upcoming authors like you. Finding a good agent or publisher who believes in you and wants to work with you helps.(less)

Willowy Whisper
“Reese sucked in a breath and played faster, hurling the anger through his fingers until it spun all his
fear, all his rage, into the gentle voice of music.”
Willowy Whisper, This Hostile Land

Karen Blixen
“The sky was rarely more than pale blue or violet, with a profusion of mighty, weightless, ever-changing clouds towering up and sailing on it, but it has blue vigour in it, and at a short distance it painted the ranges of hills and the woods a fresh deep blue.”
Karen Blixen, Out of Africa

Hannah Linder
“You may be a bit presumptuous, Miss Woodhart, and may lack certain habits of good etiquette. But in dancing, you exceed many—and in loveliness, I have known no equal.”
Hannah Linder, Beneath His Silence

Hannah Linder
“We must all be allowed our moments of insanity and senselessness. Without them, what sort of dull, lifeless creatures would we be?”
Hannah Linder

Wendy Wimmer
“Normally, you don’t think about how many times you do laps. If you do, you start to get a little dizzy, go all Camus about the futility
of the situation. Your laces on the right side start to get loose from always turning against them. Normally I switch it up, do a little fancy
footwork and skate backward for a bit, but what if that messed up the youth magic? What if I sped up time instead of reversing it
and my face melted off like the Nazis when they opened the Ark of the Covenant?”

Julia Reffner Hi, thanks for the invite, Lisa! I look forward to seeing what you're reading.

Harlequin Books Hi, I'm very happy to meet you and look forward to discussing books with you. If you ever have any questions about any of the titles on my shelves, please ask away. I'll be happy to answer them. I’ll also share news when I can for example; did you know that in March Silhouette Desires will be putting out their 2000th book? The authors are celebrating with a special blog on eHarlequin.com .

btw, I grew up reading the Pern books. I absolutely love Anne's world.
