The Great Hunt, book Two of The Wheel of Time, is where a bit of deterioration begins. The story is still moving along, and it’s all solid … but. There was one example of Nynaeve tugging on her braid in the first book. I didn’t note any in the second. In the third? Twenty–five. An excellent sequel to the beginning book of the Wheel of Time. Rand starts to accidentally use the One Power with startling consequences; gets caught up in the Game of Houses in Cairhien; and fights a true swordmaster, because his life does depend on it!
Loved it this time, just as much as the six times I read it before. Never gets old; never loses its grip on me; many of the characters remain like old friends to me.

Definitely a lot more action in book 2 than in book 1. This was such a fun read for me and as a fantasy lover. All of the main characters in this book go through a growth that you can all tell they needed to go through. Rand especially is the character who had the most struggles in this book. But the women in this book stole the show for me! Egwene, Nynaeve, Elyane, Min, Moiraine, and Verin all made the story go.
