This series wrecked me, and now I don't know what to do with the rest of my life. A roller coaster of emotion from start to finish. I cried actual tears as the climax unfolded. It has been a long time since I have become so attached to fictional characters. I am sure a longer review will follow when I have a chance to recover!

Right up front I can say that A Court of Wings an Ruin was not as enjoyable as the second book, for me. For all the rush of an oncoming war, the characters seemed to spend a lot of time idling around, going on meaningless missions that, even for someone who has no strategical experience seem, obviously useless. They're too clueless for immortal being who are "older than the world". The last 200 pages do get better but at the point one has already spent over 500 pages being frustrated with the ...more
