Initial thought:

This might not have been a perfect book, but it still kept me engaged and engrossed while I was reading it. I’m officially hooked on this series and these characters. I’m really kicking myself from not getting into sooner, which was what I said after book 2, but not I’m doubling down it.

Review:

Aside from knowing that an epic battle was coming and I know certain characters survived, I didn’t know what to expect going into this one especially after the cliffhanger that the 4.5 stars

Review:

I was intrigued by the whole situation that Feyre was in and just the stakes it put her to be in that situation. She was something else and very clever in how she put things into play. I will say I was surprised in a book this length how short of a time that situation she was in. On the one hand, I was happy because it got her back to where she wanted to be, but on the other hand I was wanting and expecting there to be a lot more pining and longing happening until either the halfway through the book or the end.

There were a lot more things happening with a lot of information thrown into mix after she got out of the situation in the beginning. It slowed down the pace a little bit especially not knowing if it was going to be relevant to this war that was build up. I just wanted the action to pick up a little sooner than it did.

As for the romance between Feyre and Rhysand, there were still as epic as ever, but it did take a backseat to other intense things going on especially in comparison to book 2. I understand why other people say book 2 was their favorite, and I think this was a big reason why. I just wanted more romance to lighten up the heaviness of everything else going on.

However once the action cane at the end, it really came. The stakes were heightened to immense levels. At times, I was biting nails so much. I was just flipping through the pages rapidly because I needed to know. Even though I knew certain characters survived, I was still scared for them. I was gut punched when a certain thing happened. I was choking up even though I knew it was going to be okay. My emotions were that heightened, which says just how consumed I was with this part of the story. It was quite the adrenaline rush.

I did like seeing the different characters have their own stories develop especially Feyre’s sisters. There was great emotion. The growth was there. There was just the level of depth there that made these characters feel very real and made me very attached to them. Quite a few times my heart broke for them in the different situations that they were in. They just made the series stronger going forward.

The rich world building became more complex and even more complicated than I even knew. It just expanding, which I loved. I just felt even more immersed in it than I did before. It made me wonder how far it’s going ti go in the future. I look forward to finding out. ...more

I finished the first 3 books of the ACOTAR series (the original trilogy, apparently) during a very busy phase of my life. The fact that I finished over 1,700 pages in just about a month while insanely busy is testament to how good this series is. But you don't need me to tell you that. I'm late to the ACOTAR party and honestly... How dare I?

ACOWAR wasn't my favorite as of yet (ACOMAF has my heart) but I still really enjoyed it. There were definitely parts that dragged on, but for the most part I ...more
