While wil Wheaton is a terrific narrator, the writing is not for me

Ready Player 1 (4.0) :-was a very interesting read. By far a submersive story that drew you right in. I mainly picked up this book because of the movie trailer. Hence I did not know the plot until picking up this book. But I'm a glad I got to read this before the movie came up.
The virtual reality aspects have always fascinated me. Not to the mention the reference to many, many ,many pop culture was astonishing. The level of research it must have taken the writer for the completetion of this boo ...more

I listened to this audiobook. It was a riot of 1980s nostalgia mixed with little guy versus the big nasty corporation. If you are not a fan or child of the era, the information and detailed description of 80's pop culture might get annoying.
Re-read for a book club: some of of the shine of novelty had dissipated, but still a unique and fun read, particularly for those nostalgic for the 1980's. ...more
