The beginning was a little slow, and over-the-top in setting the scene and mood (for me personally), but it hit a certain point and I couldn't (and didn't) put it down! I think it's hard to have such a premise turn into something good that feels satisfying when it's over, but Collins manages to pull that off. I'm also fascinated with the world she has SO clearly painted for me. The story was tragic, inspiring, moving and mortifying all at the same time. ...more

HOLY CLIFFHANGER BATMAN! i hatez dem. but YES i read this book in one sitting and YES i'm gonna run straight out and get number two. or should i say, click right over to amazon and download it.

as much as i despise the cliffhanger ending, i must say it is effective at getting me to keep reading. /sigh ...more
