What Members Thought

That was quite a nice read. I had expected the story to take a turn towards the more rebellious, but I still hope to see some more revolutionary development in the next instalments. I’m not sure that I cared enough for any of the main characters, but I hope that they will be able to smart the system for which I cared even less.

This book was PHENOMENAL. I could not put it down. The same goes for the rest of the trilogy, all of which I read in about 26 hours (while also going to work). While at work, I would discreetly read a page or two and then get back to my task at hand, and then return to read a couple more pages in a few minutes. I was obsessed, addicted, and in love with the series. It made me laugh and cry and feel so incredibly human. I recommend this book to everyone.

I broke my own rule of watching the movie before reading this book. The reason for the rule is that I've always enjoyed having a little more information before I see a movie based on a book.
In most cases I walk away from the film disappointed. Here I watch the movie first and it was enjoyable. Afterwards, I began to read Suzanne Collins' book. I avoided this book for a long time because the mania surrounding it frankly reminded me of Twilight/50 Shades of Gray, and I refused to be swept up in it.
I found a copy at Goodwill for 99 cents and decided to give it a try, and was pleasantly surprised. This is a good, if grim read (I can't believe this is considered a children's book), and certainly better than the movie, which changed several elements. I look forward to reading the second one. ...more

i loved the book, more than honestly i thought i would. it's written in genuine first person, as it happens narrative. This makes it much more "Real" than i expected. The differences from the movie and extra details in the book are great as well. I'm glad i decided to read it and not settle on just seeing the movie.
