I've had this for such a long time, and while I know I've probably missed the window for when I was truly wanting this kind of story I still really enjoyed it!

Did not like her Binti book, but I want to know whether this will be different (because, again, like Binti, this book was nominated for awards).

It is better, more action, at least. The book is about Nigerian teenagers who have magical powers, as part of a global "race" who has similar powers. As human beings, there are some who're good, some who turned evil. In this book, a certain evil person killed children to summon monsters into this world.
