Douglas Adams' The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy made for a fun and quirky read, and it was certainly better than the movie. I was able to run through the novel in only two days as it was engaging and and easy read. Do not however confuse and easy read with simple or lacking in depth. Unfortunately, I think it was somewhat over-hyped by everyone who recommend it to me. Had I stumbled upon it on my own or at a younger age, perhaps I would have been more enthused. It might have been a bit oversold and got my expectations too high. I liked it, but I didn't absolutely love it. Also, it was space science fiction and that just isn't my style. But, I did enjoy the humor. ...more
