I am surprised that I managed to finish a book picking it in the morning, and finishing it in the afternoon. Well, I finished the book while listening to the audiobook from my Scribd app. I got Spin the Dawn from my July 2019 Owlcrate subscription book; I liked the cover, and I felt that I have to read it.
I liked the premise of the book, Project Runway show ft. Mulan, but it is a lot more than that. I love when there are books taking mythology, and fairy tales and weave into something new, and E ...more

This was an overall really good book! I know this is a Mulan retelling of sorts and I thought this was very well done. I could definitely see where Lim drew from the legend. I quite liked Maia. She was strong, feisty, intelligent, kind and brave and was an all around enjoyable character. I really, really, really loved the romance. It was slow paced and extremely believable.
