I was kind of annoyed by this book. I can't say why exactly. Blake Crouch is a good writer. I had zero problems with his writing style but I have learned I love Sci-fi but I do not like this kind of Sci-fi. I never saw myself as a space and spaceship kind of person. I prefer that to multiple universes or this kind where a chair can take you back to certain memories.

From this point on I give most of the books main plot and plot twists away so if you plan on reading this book don't read any furth I was kind of annoyed by this book. I can't say why exactly. Blake Crouch is a good writer. I had zero problems with his writing style but I have learned I love Sci-fi but I do not like this kind of Sci-fi. I never saw myself as a space and spaceship kind of person. I prefer that to multiple universes or this kind where a chair can take you back to certain memories.

It just got a little old after awhile and really repetitive after a while and I was getting kind of bored. That is also when I realized I WAS in fact a space and spaceship kind of girl 🤣🤣

Maybe my rating isn't fair because I found I hated this type of Sci-fi. I'm still giving it 2 stars because I found it lacking and repetitive. I know why but I just wasn't a fan. I'm going to try Dark Matter his other book and if I don't like it then I know Blake Crouch isn't an author for me.

Oh and I HATED the ending of this book. That's the main reason for the 2 star rating. I mean really dude!!!! ...more

This is but one of the questions that Blake Crouch asks the reader in his newest book. It is a mind-bending, thrilling read that immerses the reader in a puzzle from the first page. I’ve waited for this book since reading and falling in love with Dark Matter. I think I loved Recursion just as much, if not more. It made me think about the past and my own memories and time itself. This was a pretty awesome read. I liked the way the time travel concept was handled and the limitations made for interesting puzzles and obstacles for the characters. There were still a few plotholes where they didn't exactly explain how the character could be in the time they were and know the things they knew from the future, those details sometimes got a little handwaved.
