A great start to the series!

Tempting Danger is the first book in The World of the Lupi series by Eileen Wilks. I’m disappointed that I had not discovered this series sooner. I’m going to have a lot of books to catch up on.

In Tempting Danger, the main character Lily investigates a murder at a Lupi bar. Lily is a detective and in the course of her investigation, she questions Rule Turner, a prince of the Nikolai clan and a lupi. As a sensitive, Lily is able to sense magic on others. Rule perplexe ...more

This story is a more detailed rendition of "Only Human", from the LOVER BEWARE anthology. There is very little that remains the same from the first story - Eileen Wilks apparently had more to say and decided to elaborate and detour from her original short story. Despite that, it is still a compelling novel. ...more

This started a little slow but the second half really picked up for me. I'm not usually the biggest fan of the fated mates thing but I was OK with it here. I liked both Lily & Rule and the way they kind of fumbled towards their relationship. I really loved Lily's grandmother because the older I get more I love a kick ass older lady. Why haven't I read this series before now? Crime procedural urban fantasy with a kickass grandma. So many elements that seem overdone and boring but woven in a way that is new and exciting. First mated pairing that hasn't made me want to roll my eyes. And sometimes I thought I saw the twist coming and the story went a completely different way.
