A great start to the series!
Tempting Danger is the first book in The World of the Lupi series by Eileen Wilks. I’m disappointed that I had not discovered this series sooner. I’m going to have a lot of books to catch up on.
In Tempting Danger, the main character Lily investigates a murder at a Lupi bar. Lily is a detective and in the course of her investigation, she questions Rule Turner, a prince of the Nikolai clan and a lupi. As a sensitive, Lily is able to sense magic on others. Rule perplexe ...more

TEMPTING DANGER was quite a different type of UF book than I am usually used to. I would call this a mix of FBI/cop mystery plus very little romance/paranormal drama. To be honest I don't really know how I felt about this book, but I didn't hate it, but I didn't like it either. Starting the book, I didn't know if I would like it because of the cop/FBI stuff, because I'm more of UF and less mystery stuff. But it wasn't that bad. I loved the cop drama.

I saw this on some of last month's reads and gave it an impromtu whirl. Jeez. What a delightful surprise. It is so weird that all the common threads are there...Lupi, magic..indians...family and pack... yet it is wholey unique. It would qualify as a PNR, but it reads more like a UF- more Mercy Thompson. I guess Cat and Bones are together at the end of book 1 right? Still. I am glad there are LOTS of books in this series. It's been a while since I have had a series like that to enjoy.

I actually read the short story that is the base for this series, and actually it is a lot a like this first book. The difference is that in the S"S the side story with the killing was shorter and a lot less complicated (there it was that a rival clan tried to take them down because of the right that they support) and the whole relationship moved faster and the "ILU" just jumped there while in the series they are still now sure how they feel towards each other, and we got explanations about the
