Another great installment in this series by Rob Thurman (who is actually a woman!). In this book, the characters of Niko and Cal are devoleped a bit more, though some of the other characters - like for example Georgina or Promise - stay rather two-dimensional. But I'm into these books for the relationship between the brothers and because of Robin Goodfellows, the puck, so I didn't mind much.

Not as good as the first but then I didn't think it would even hold a candle to that one so I was pleasantly surprised that it still ranked high for me. For once the protagonist has a chance to save his brother instead of always the other way around. I don't think she set up Cal's love for the girl well enough in the beginning. I really like Thurman's world. He doesn't follow the normal vampire/werewolf type of urban paranormal setting. This second book was a good read and I like the character development, but am starting to despair over the main character's whining. Yeah, he's got a shit life, but I'm not into the angst. That said - at least it's not a romance.
