Hell yeah.. I want a piece of Dmitri. I haven't found a book by this author that I haven't loved including this especially scrumptious one. I only wish we'd seen more of Elena and Raphael. Oh well. Next book, hopefully. A MUST READ :-) ...more

Dmitri's book was a total surprise. When Dmitri first came on the scene in Angel's Blood, I didn't like him. Yes, he was sexy, dark, and dangerous. He's also arrogant, aloof and has a reputation for being one of the cruelest vampires, being Raphael's first. I didn't like the way he treated Elena, even though I knew it was to protect Raphael. My dislike for Dmitri continued through most of this book...UNTIL through the series of flashbacks we are made to understand why Dmitri is the way he is.

Great book, can't go wrong with Nalini Singh.
I liked so many things about this book, especially that the author is making the series about the whole crew, I keep thinking that we'll see something about Venom and Sorrow, maybe?
or Ash and Janvier?
Anyway, I liked this side of Dmitri, he's always been a very veeery interesting character and it was great to read about him, his life before he was a vampire (even if it was an awful story), it made me like him even more and somehow understand him too.
