Wow! Ate this book up in a day and again, even better the second time around.

Faefever is an awesome book. It grabbed my attention right from the start. Faefever is the story of Mackayla Lane (Mac), a sidhe-seer. She is also able to sense the fae's Objects of Power (OOP) including the sinister Sinsar Dubh.

Shelves: five-stars

Despite the cliffhanger I really like this book. However I have the next one right next to me so I don't have to wait. It would probably be a whole other story if I was forced to wait a year. lol. I feel sorry for all people who read this book before the fourth came out.

The third book out of five, FAEFEVER, is packed with enough reveals, action, and drama to suck you in and hold on tight to you until the end. The characters are original, frustrating and endearing. The unfolding is perfectly paced and captivating. There is a reason they say you will ‘catch the fever'. Expect to be hooked.

Mac is a southern belle from Georgia who until recently tended bar, groomed herself to gorgeousness, and sunbathed the days away waiting for her sister to return from a study abroad program in Dublin so that they could get married, live on the same street as their parents and raise their kids in continued perfect bliss.

Then her sister, Alina, was murdered.

Mac's journey to Dublin for answers began in DARKFEVER. Since her arrival in Dublin, she has learned that she and Alina were adopted, have the ability to see the fae, can null a fae's powers for a short time, and most importantly, can sense the fae's objects of power.

Thanks to the all out search for the Sinsar Dubh and Mac's ability to sense its presence, Mac is in high demand. Unfortunately, clues as to why everyone wants the book and what happened to Alina aren't so forthcoming. Mac learns most of her lessons about the way the world really is the hard way. As much as some try to keep her alive to use her skills, others have been trying to kill her.

In book three, slips of the tongue and Alina's diary combine with Mac's own detective skills to help us discover more about just what exactly is going on. No, we don't know what exactly JZB is, but we learn what he is not. Christian MacKeltar reveals his role in the whole web. And for those of you who followed Ms Moning's Highlander series, yep the MacKeltar men are back. So are their women, and what a yummy treat for Ms Moning's Maniacs it is.

Three surprising cheers for Prince V'Lane who actually comes right out, no muss no fuss, and tells Mac why the Queen needs the book. He also gives Mac a very descriptive tale of how the book and the Unseelie themselves came to be. Frightening that the fae prince is the honest and trustworthy one at this point. And, we do learn the identity of the Lord Master. Once again, those who followed the romance series, Highlander, will recognize the name and the back story.

By the time part two of the book began, Jerrico Z Barrons and I were on the outs. That man (and I use that term lightly) needs a spanking. Too bad no one is interested in lining up to help me administer it. Although I think the girls of the fae seeing order, the sidhe-seers, might be clueless enough to give it a go. A little honesty and forthrightness would go a long way towards building a modicum of trust. Nothing seems to surprise him, which means he prefers Mac to face danger in the dark. At least he proves he knows his limits by the end of chapter 13. I guess he does have a few redeeming qualities other than the fact that Adonis himself would probably lust after the ‘man'.

The good news for those new to the series is that as soon as you finish book three you can dive right into book four. This one ends with a powerful cliffhanger that left longtime fans in a tizzy between book releases. This is my second time reading FAEFEVER and once again I had to put it down and distract myself multiple times as I read the ending. Evil isn't palatable, especially when it is written well.

Like I said in the beginning, FAEFEVER is the cornerstone of the series. This is where it all takes a turn. The question is: Is it for better or worse? Upwards or downwards? Where do we go from here? Who do we trust? And how do you hope in the face of pure evil? For those of you who love magnificent writing that makes you think and question, for those of you who love characters that make you cry and scream, for those of you who thrill at the discovery of a complex world within our world: Catch The Fever! Faefever left me completely stunned after I finished it, where I was screaming, "WHERE IS THE NEXT DAMN BOOK! I NEED IT NOW!" Moning has been making me go very crazy lately so no surprise, right? Moning's endings make you crave for more and that's exactly what you'll do when you finish this book. I devoured this book. I couldn't stop. But who would want to stop? This book was freaking AMAZING! I want more! I will never get enough of Mac and Barrons, so bring on the next book!

Mac pussed me off immensely in this one. And shouting at books "shuttup already and move on!!!" is not attractive. Plus it's the middle of the book, is it really nececery to reatale again and again things that happens in previous books? It's not like someone who hasn't read the series will start with this one, so again, shuttup already!
But the ending saved it, and I like the story, I wont to know what will happen next. So ::shrug (I love shrug!! I can shrug all day!!) I'll put up with Mac and, ...more

By the end of this novel Moning has you pumping your fist in the air shouting, 'Oh, come on!' Its' ridiculous how addicting this novel and these characters are. From it's smart flippant dialogue to the hidden inuendo between the characters, this series will have you coming back for more! Where to begin!
OK…I’ll try to make it spoiler free for those of you haven’t gotten this far!
I love that there are so many many things going on at once!, and who… or what is Barrons??
The diary has been found, but who has it?
Now super hot Prince V´Lane and Christian are getting more into the story...
