★★★★☆ (This is a review of the audiobook.) Sometimes I think listeners of audiobooks have a distinct advantage over readers of hardcopy. If they are well narrated and well directed, as this one is, they can bring to life what the author intended, as tone, inflection, and reaction between characters and how they dialogue is so vital. I didn't enjoy this one as much as the others. I loved Clay but Tally was harder to love despite her vulnerability and sad past.

The complex Psy have a complicated and frightening history. Each revelation about them reveals another reason to fear and loathe those responsible for implementing and maintaining Silence, and those who wish to take it a step further by trying to create a hive mind, thereby completely destroying individuality and the freedom of choice.

This is such an amazing series and I swear it gets better with every book! Until now, there hasn't been much to learn about Clay...knew he was a sentinel and closed off...that about covered it. Can't say that any more...in addition to introducing Clay, there was finally a human presence. In the three previous books, all that has been said is that humans are the weakest of the three groups...whatever! As a human I have to protest...but seriously, it would be cool to turn wolf or leopard!
