What Members Thought
It's taken me a little while to digest this book as it is written in a rather unique way, which I'm still not convinced I completely liked, and is a very difficult story. The story follows Jack and his Ma as they go about their daily lives in Room, which to Jack is the whole world but to his Ma is a prison. Told through Jack's eyes the story starts out simple and quickly gets complicated as the truth emerges and Jack's world is turned inside out (I shan't say too much as I don't want to spoil it

I loved this book! I thought it would bother me alot since I was a kidnap victim so it took me a long time to get to read it but I'm so glad I did. I don't know if it was because it is from the little boys prespective that although it is horrible it is slightly more palatable! This book of course had tense moments and moments that just made me so angry but still it was a wonderful book and I would recommend it highly!!!

A interesting read. Took me a while to get into the sotry of Jack aged 5 - born in a shed in the back garden where his mother had been imprisioned for 7 years. The story certainly picked up when Jack made his escape and his outlook on the "outside" made me smile.

Really enjoyed this book. It wasn't at all what I thought it was going to be like. I'm kinda glad that the library was only gonna be open for another 5 mins and that I had to choose a book faster than I normally do, or I might have never chose this book. It have some truly special parts, but it also had some truly horrific parts as well. The whole book was believable and definitely had a child perspective. Jack detail in a child's voice, his mothers dealing with recovery, the families reactions,

Not sure what I think of this book. It was a good story and the fact that it was told through a child's narrative let you see some things I think you wouldn't have seen from an adult's point of view. However, the child's narrative gets a bit old, fast, even when listening. I imagine it would be that much more tiring to read. A creatively told story, but not a fav of mine.

I did'nt really connect with this at all. Although I thought it was an interesting sympathetic premise for a story, it just did not hook me in.
