DNF at around 30%.
Fear not, this is a decent book, a good book. Waters is an excellent writer and an excellent crafter of characters - the girls here both have their own voices, interests, insecurities - and for once it can actually be said that the setting comes alive as well. Beautifully done, effortlessly convincing, and yet not a fully satisfactory experience for me.

Tämä kirja nappasi hitonmoisiin pihteihin heti alusta. Puolille välin asti tarinaa oli vaikea päästää käsistä. Tästä eteenpäin kirjoittajan tarinankuljetus oli jo sen verran tuttua, ettei tarina enää päässyt yllättämään kuten alussa. Pieni tiivistys olisi tehnyt kirjalle hyvää.

At some parts the story dragged and overall the book could have been a lot shorter but I nevertheless enjoyed it. The mental institution part was creepy. To think that someone sane could actually be stuck in such a place... Who wouldn't eventually become crazy?
