What Members Thought

This was at least my second reading, if not my third or fourth. And I've seen the movie innumerable times (especially since I have the dvd). And, yet, on every reading I wonder if I am misremembering. Agatha Christie has that effect on me. I always think, that can't be the way it was.
I am assuming that "white horses on the sea" is the same as "white caps". In every Christie book there is always some turn of phrase that leaves me momentarily puzzled.

This is probably one of the most acclaimed mysteries ever written. And it is excellent, in plotting and execution. Every time I read it I have to admire Christie. But I don't particularly care for this book. The characters aren't nice people to begin with, and the circumstances force them to become suspicious of each other as they are manipulated, one by one, to their deaths. I prefer my books to have some people I can like and admire.

Ten strangers are summoned to a private island owned by an unknown millionaire. Before the weekend is out, one is killed after another until there were none. The author did a great job in maintaining the suspense and mystery throughout the book with her sharp imagination and well-constructed sentences.
