I finally read this and it was so cute!
I'm not a graphic novel reader, I prefer full novels, but I knew I had to read this one. It sounded adorable and I've heard great things and it lived up to my expectations. Charlie is the only openly gay student at his all boys school and has been bullied in the past. When popular rugby player Nick befriends him, Charlie starts being happier and comes out of his shell.

I can see what all the fuss was about because it is a really sweet thing. And the hand of the author is so tactful and sensitive. It is a highly enjoyable comics, and I think it is the right one to read in this time of Christmas. It is not Christmasy per se (but at least we have snow!) but it is just full of good feelings and sweetness and empathy all around!On another note, I don't know if I would read the other volumes. 5 stars. Why the hell am I just now reading this adorable ass graphic novel? What the hell is wrong with me? I adored this so much. Charlie and Nick are the cutest little idiots on the planet and I love them so much already.

This is the Dutch translation of Heartstopper: Volume One
This was cute, I must admit. Normally, I wait with reading books that are a hype at the moment, but this one made me curious. I haven't heard from Alice Oseman, but that's just maybe because I'm not 'YA' anymore, just reading the genre. I've rooted for Charlie and wanted him to be happy, I was mad at Ben for treating the way he'd treated Charlie and I hoped Nick would admit his feelings.
I felt like a teenager again, while reading the book ...more
