Finally finished my beautiful, leather-bound volume I received for Christmas many years ago. But I'm so glad I savored this book and this author. There is so much to absorb when it comes to Poe and it takes time to do it.

Next to Dickens, one of my favorite authors of all time. Nothing warms my heart more than a spooky atmosphere and a twisted mind. The King of Horror, in my opinion, and one of the greatest writers ever. His beautiful prose gets me every time. Works reviewed separately below, but

Great stuff in Poe, but reading one after the other seems to erode some of the effectiveness. Sample occasionally, rather than in one sitting.
