Read the first three chapters and it was very "Mad Libs" - maybe it gets better, but I don't think I'll take the time to find out. If I were a high school student assigned to read Austen, I'd get a real kick out of this, but I'm not, so I didn't.

Of course there are zombies, but the best part is that Lizzie Bennet, and all her sisters, are like ninjas! They have super fighting skills and Lizzie is a super-cool badass. Of course, the original story is so good that played a huge part in why I really liked this creative re-telling. About 80% of it is the original Austen wording. Pride and Prejudice is my FAVOURITE Austen novel, mainly due to the faults found in all the main characters. Far and away a superior novel, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies however, struck me as a charming way to re-read a book I love with little bits of ridiculousness tossed in the bunch.
Some of the insertions made me giggle (English parts!) but some were a bit more eye-rolling (vomiting, constantly) but overall, cute and I finished it in an evening, so much faster than I had the original novel ...more

I was very skeptical about this book- I am a die hard fan of pride and prejudice and felt the "zombie thing" was a little blasphemous, but I actually made it through this book and enjoyed it. i still can't decide if it's only because I love the story so much that I looked past the zombies, or if it was just a new twist. I'm still debating between 2 and 3 stars, but for now, I'll stick with the 3.
