Danah Ashcroft | 3 comments So did anyone else cheat a little here? I have a fairly boring and unique career that no one would write even a minor character into, well may John Oliver might do a skit about it. So I decided the list lacked something science-y and added "A book about science".

Anyone know of a book about a municipal asset manager? The excitement of analyzing databases, understanding asset risks and delivering services? Working with engineers but not being one?

Myra (myraelise) | 7 comments I have no suggestions for you. And I haven't even really looked thoroughly at the list or started to pick books, but I'm guessing finding a book about someone who works at a cats-only boarding facility will be hard for me. :) I'm open to ideas.

There's a folder with posts for different occupations -maybe you can find something close? For animal boarding, Jill Shalvis writes a lot of romances involving people who work with animals (vet, groomer, service dog trainer, etc). The heroine of Animal Magnetism runs an animal boarding facility, but it's not cats-only. But she's got a cat!

Myra (myraelise) | 7 comments I'll go check out the folder. And take a look at Animal Magnetism. I read a mystery this year (or last year) where the protagonist volunteers at an animal shelter and a rescue, so I was thinking something like that.

Cindy (wanna_read_all_the_books) | 1 comments I feel your pain. I work in credit card collections. I looked for a book set in a call center instead of trying to find someone who had the exact same job.

I debated something with an engineer. In the end I decided just to classify a book I read because I wanted to that didn't fit any category. I was satisfied with that choice

Sarah (sarahdailey4) | 2 comments This is kind of funny...I just added a book to my tbr shelf about Ted Bundy, who worked as an advocate on an abuse hotline, I believe. I guess that would qualify.....I work at a sexual assault center.

That should be interesting. Wonder if it will get into that or just the crimes.
