This was a mother daughter buddy read. We wanted to read the book before we watched the movie. We both really enjoyed it. I personally wasn't a huge fan of the ending. I was expecting more... I don't know. Just more. But other than that it was good.

There are a lot of mixed reviews on Bird Box - the book and the movie. I haven’t seen the Netflix movie yet, but I thought the book was solid. By now, everyone knows what you see can hurt you, therefore, blindfolds. I found myself thinking too practically about this book, and tried to just be entertained.

I enjoyed the movie and am glad I watched it first, before I even knew about the book. Despite the changes, I think the movie is a pretty good adaptation but I feel like if I had read the book first I would not have been able to enjoy the film as much. Some of the changes were better, in my opinion in the film version, but overall I prefer the book. If for nothing else than that the physics and nature of the creatures makes more sense to me. I watched the movie a few years back and the book is just as good. Love this genre. The book is slightly different than the movie, so you can read & watch the movie one after each other (like I did) and not feel like its a repeat.
