What Members Thought

ALL ANIMALS ARE EQUAL BUT SOME ANIMALS ARE MORE EQUAL THAN OTHERS.
This was a re-read for me. My daughter's 9th grade English class will be reading it, and since it's been about 35 years since I last read it, a refresher seemed a good idea. I had forgotten how many themes here were later repeated in Nineteen Eighty-Four. Somehow, strangely, this book strikes me as more realistic and therefore more ominous than Orwell's other classic.

A satire in fable form on revolutions and government systems. The animals of a farm revolt against their human masters and drive them out, the pigs becoming the leaders. The pigs are corrupted by power and a new tyranny replaces the old.
All animals are equal but some animals are more equal than others.
