Beautiful. Excessive and obnoxious overreliance on comma splices when semicolons would suffice and be grammatically sound. But beautiful. First time I've really enjoyed extended physical descriptions, because they were perfect and mattered so much. Lovely.

First, I need to thank Cheryl for giving this book a great rating which caused me to look it up and find it available at the library. The reviews aren't great, but I trusted her judgement and gave it a try. I loved this book so much. This is not a fast paced thriller. It is more like a glass of unfamiliar wine that you sip slowly. Therefore, I argue that a slow moving plot is not a problem in this specific book. The plot is not the focus of the book. It is the experience of the circus itself. The descriptions are very good, and I wouldn't mind visiting this magical place, even if it does remind me a bit of Hogwarts.

The Night Circus is a charming novel; it's not fast-paced or full of action but more of a slow, gentle love story that has an inevitable ending. I loved getting to explore the circus and meeting all of its performers; I definitely envisioned a Tim Burtonesque atmosphere.

I started listening to this a few months ago (Jim Dale, need I say more) but I got really confused with all the time switching so I gave up. Luckily, our book group chose this book and I gave it another shot. What an amazing book! The imagery is so beautiful and the story is completely unique. I couldn't put it down. A must read!!
