What Members Thought

I really enjoyed this book. My first time reading an adult book told in a 5 year olds point of view. How brave of Ma to figure out a plan to hopefully get she and Jack out of this room. Jack spent 5 years of his life in this room, only to find out later about his big world that he was not a part of. They each had their struggles to find their places "in the world"

I had high hopes for this book because of all the publicity it has gotten and although I didn't care for the beginning all that much, I give it 4 stars. It wasn't until I got to the part where Ma and Jack start planning their escape that I finally found some momentum in the story.

Definitely a book that makes you think. I'm glad I didn't read any spoilers about the story in advance, which would have detracted from the book's impact. I'll be thinking about this one for a while.

Really a tough book to read, but I am glad that I stuck with it to the end. I can't imagine what the movie version will be like!

I think this was really well written from the perspective of 5 year-old Jack. I just didn't love it.
