Middle-grade books are just so fun to read, throw in vampires & twins & it ends up a totally hoot! This is the first time I'm reading about about twins who are both girls, identical & yet, they as different as a vampire & a bunny. {That's another gag in the book} I've always loved twins & especially identical twins who can impersonate each other at any given time they want or could be mistaken for the other one. I was originally just looking for something light to read & pass the time but I didn't expect to find something that had me laughing with it's perfect sense of humor.

The story started with Olivia Abbott who just moved to Franklin Grove five weeks into the school year & her realizing there are more Goths at Franklin Grove Middle School than there was at her old school, she inadvertently meets Ivy Vega, a Goth girl. When Ivy Vega meets Olivia Abbott, she keeps getting this unusual feeling that she knows Olivia from somewhere but her best friend Sophia points out the obvious that Olivia "The Bunny" is too pink for them to know. By the end of the school day, things start flowing in the book, which I've got to say, Sienna Mercer wrote everything in a fun way that made both the Cheerleaders & the Goths sound wonderfully real. Really {Another gag from the book}

The whole thing was really interesting, their meeting & discovery of each other, the way Olivia was over supportive of Ivy & the way that Ivy was appreciative of Olivia for making impossible things actually become possible. Their stories were obviously about each other, which lacked any kind of fillers whatsoever & that was pretty cool. Pretty much adorable & fun to read.

Deserved all four stars I gave it for it's Charm, The Interesting Twists, Sense of Humor that Sucked, & The Sisterhood Bond, All the Goths & Cheerleaders!

It was definitely drop-dead!

This is probably about the 20th time I've read this book, and it definitely won't be the last. This was my childhood book and I still adore it. The characters, the writing style, the story, the idea... everything is brilliant. Funny, well-executed, heart-warming and seriously entertaining! ...more

Really enjoyed this book and, having read the majority of the books in the series, I think it is the best book of them all! Sadly I don't think the other books in the series quite live up to Switched.
Olivia and Ivy are very contrasting characters, despite being twins. This is partly why one of my favourite parts of the book is when they have to try and impersonate each other in tricky situations and don't always get it quite right! ...more
