95766 Actually, Clockwork Angel is a separate shadowhunter series. It's the first one in it too, so you wouldn't have to worry about reading them out of order. :)

95766 I guess I'm in the minority here... ^.^"

Plot wise, I thought the book was decent, but June and Day were SO Mary Sue/ Gary Stu, I couldn't concentrate. I wanted to scream, "Somebody have a flaw already!"

I haven't read the second or third book, but I might give it a chance later on when I don't have so much to read...

95766 Please join us this month in readingLegend by Marie Lu, the Bingo Winners' Choice!

Legend (Legend, #1) by Marie Lu

Synopsis: What was once the western United States is now home to the Republic, a nation perpetually at war with its neighbors. Born into an elite family in one of the Republic's wealthiest districts, fifteen-year-old June is a prodigy being groomed for success in the Republic's highest military circles. Born into the slums, fifteen-year-old Day is the country's most wanted criminal. But his motives may not be as malicious as they seem.

From very different worlds, June and Day have no reason to cross paths - until the day June's brother, Metias, is murdered and Day becomes the prime suspect. Caught in the ultimate game of cat and mouse, Day is in a race for his family's survival, while June seeks to avenge Metias's death. But in a shocking turn of events, the two uncover the truth of what has really brought them together, and the sinister lengths their country will go to keep its secrets.

Full of nonstop action, suspense, and romance, this novel is sure to move readers as much as it thrills.

You don't have to participate in the Group Read - it's entirely up to you, but if you read the book along with us or have already read it, we would love to hear your comments, questions, thoughts, ect. That's what makes the Group Read fun! Please keep from posting too many spoilers early in the month, though, as people might still be reading it. 95766 Yay! I'm glad there's so much interest in it! I read the whole series last year and loved it! Hopefully everyone else will too!

95766 So,with the new year, we have a brand new pretty Banner and - with it - a brand new Banner Challenge! Here's the place you can post your progress to keep up with how you're doing or to simply brag about how far you've gotten so far! ;)

Remember, you don't have to have read the books this year for it to count toward the challenge. So, if you read one a couple of years ago, feel free to go ahead and mark it off.

95766 Here's the new thread for this year's A-Z Reading Challenges! This is how it works: you try to read a book that will count for each letter of the alphabet. The letter can be included in the title itself, or can be the author's last name. Some of the letters are going to be harder than others, but we're not too picky! You can bend the rules a little, we won't complain. ;)

Also, any book you read this year can go toward the list. It doesn't have to be just YA! Feel free to post your progress here!
