Jhmingos wrote: "Hmm, surprisingly I've never read a Freida McFadden novel and you've just reminded me. Would you recommend that one or is there another favorite?"Freida is the queen of the plot twist. I really liked this one, but I really didn't like the last "gotcha" thing that happened. The Housemaid is her best selling book. I haven't read it yet, but I plan to read it this year.

I picked up The Teacher by Freida McFadden on a whim and just finished it. It was quite the roller coaster. I may just listen to music or watch Netflix tonight. I need a moment before diving back in. :)

Just a heads up that your completed books aren't disappearing from the tracking sheet. I am just moving them upwards above the blue line and then hiding those rows after they get assigned..."Oh that's good to know. I could see me thinking I'd just forgotten to enter one.
Melindam wrote: "Denise,
sometimes book-chaos takes over. Don't feel bad about it, if you don't feel like reading a book. Just guve us a shout and we'll regroup. :)"I'll just read them both. It's Christmas in February! 🤣

This is so me. I saw
The Christmas Orphans Club at the library and decided to pick it up because I was supposed to read it for Uno. I made it about half way and then thought, "Wait. I only signed up for books I owned. Do I have this book already??"
No. No, I do not. I DO have
The Christmas Appeal, the actual book I signed up for. 🤦
I'll go ahead and finish this one and then read the books I signed up for. Goodness. I'm a mess.

Melindam wrote: "Chardonnay is a very fitting title for this UNO, Elinor. :)
And thanks everyone, I officially declare Denise's book yellow. :))"🎉🎉
Elinor wrote: "I agree with all of you 😇. Happy reading everyone, hope you’re having a good time. A Good Day for Chardonnay is entertaining so far - lots of giggles 🙂."Oh, good to know! It's on my maybe list.

I think I was trying to play it safe to avoid any potential color drama. I know the captains get tired of color drama! 🤣 I'm totally fine wherever you put it.
Melindam wrote: "Teamies,
What do you think? Dark yellow or orange?
"I honestly thought yellow and went to double check with tineye and it said orange. That being said... I don't always agree with tineye. I often don't. 🤷

I was hoping it would work since V is a more unusual letter for Uno.

Can you still use a character name if (for example) Peter turns out to be a main character, but his last name isn't mentioned? I have a vague memory of needing both first and last name, but I'm not sure if it was for this challenge.
One of the books I have here, the MC meets up with her two best friends fairly often, but I can't find last names for them.

I'm not Elinor, but Google's word cloud shows characters Peter (doesn't show last name) and Katrin White in Orphan X if that helps. I haven't read it.
Melindam wrote: "Finished Norse Mythology that was a quick and fun listen on audio, very well narrated by Gaiman himself. Gave it 4 stars.
It didn't hurt his cause that I kept picturing Tom Hiddle..."Wow, that was fast!

I am struggling to finish The Fury before tomorrow, but I really want to start ASAP so I'll keep reading. :)

I have also read Ana's planned book
Invisible Girl, so that would work for reverse. :)

Ana wrote: "Hi! I'm just passing by! Sorry to the captains, I'm not really the speaking type haha but I open Goodreads every single day so I'm still following the conversations 🙂
This new library sounds magic..."It was magical! Honestly, such a fun day. The parking lot was packed all day long! It's great to see the community so supportive.
Jhmingos wrote: "I didn't know Neil Gaiman wrote about Norse mythology. Let me know what you think of it because I haven't read anything on that and I've been interested."I really liked it. He's such a great storyteller.
