However...the Grinch Mimosa might outdo them all!
I think my favorite books of 2023 (without looking them up) were:
Someone Else's Shoes
The Last Devil to Die
None of This Is True
Remarkably Bright Creatures
The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches
Lessons in Chemistry

Feel free to PM me when you're reading Yellowface if you want to discuss. It's wild! Also, it will work for reverse. 😉

I'm Portuguese, living in Portugal, and English is my second language.

Sonia- I took two years of Portuguese in college. I already spoke Spanish fairly well at that point, so it was really hard for me not to substitute Spanish vocabulary. I tried so hard to keep them separate in my head! It's a really pretty language. I never read anything as long as a novel in Portuguese, but I did watch a few Portuguese films and at least got most of the storyline.

Hello Team! 😊
I am very excited for another round of UNO and being on the team with you. 🥂 Especially as this is the 10th anniversary, so cheers to us all! 🥂

Melinda, I've always been curious...do you read mostly in Hungarian? Or is it a mix? What about audiobooks?
I have gotten a little rusty with my Spanish, but when I was younger I spent a year living in Honduras. At the time, I read several short novels in Spanish, but it took me longer to read them. I never got to the point where I could read Spanish as seamlessly as English. I'm always curious about how bilingual people prefer to read and/or listen. I wish I had tried audiobooks. I think it would've been a great way to keep learning.

I could read any of these...

That looks amazing. 🤤

The last couple of years I've played Uno, it's fallen during an incredibly busy time and this year is looking much better. I'm excited to be able to read more and interact more this year!

Special thanks to Roe for sharing the photo of her UNO Reading journal with us. Here it is. 😊"
That's very fun!

Yes, you did sign up all right. :)"
I don't see my name there either, but I'm not really panicking. I'm sure I signed up. No need to panic, right? 😉

A spreadsheet, you say.... can we....."
Ummm...it looks like you need to buy some more books. It's already January 10th!

Adult snow days are the best!

I think it has to be the color of the edition you are reading.

📕 Team Challenge experience: Lots! In several GR groups
📕 Have you joined UNO before?: yes. I think this is my 5th year. Or 4th?
📕 Favourite genres: Fiction, Mysteries, Psychological Thrillers, Gothic or creepy horror, but not gore, Rom Coms, Magical Realism
📕 Book you can't wait to read in 2024: Sooo many!
The Teacher by Freida McFadden. A Witch's Guide to Magical Innkeeping by Sangu Mandanna, Murder Road by Simone St. James, The Heiress by Rachel Hawkins, The Heaven and Earth Grocery Store by James McBride, The Vacancy in Room 10 by Seraphina Nova Glass....and probably several others I'm forgetting!
I'm really looking forward to Uno this year because I finally have a bit more time to chat and participate (beyond logging my books).
