I'm still waiting, 3rd on the list at our library. I hope it isn't like Life after Life, I could appreciate the writing I guess but wasn't really a fan. It didn't flow well for me. But others I know really enjoyed it.

But she rushed over and gave the surprise saviour the biggest hug and was just about to kiss them when suddenly there was a huge flash of light.
Find me a cover with an ice cream on it.

Her Knight in shining armour... but wait... wasn't that...

This looks really good. I'm no 2 in the queue at my library, I'll join in if I get it in time.

Suddenly she heard a small voice call out, "Cindy, is that you?"

I finished this afternoon.
Wow, the last fifty pages were intense. A little difficult to get your head around but did ring true to the gothic horror genre. Just a pity that the first half of the book was slow and didn't seem to be going anywhere.

I'm half way through. I'm liking it but not loving it. I didn't have any expectation going in but I thought it would have more of a Mexican feel to it. Maybe because the main family are English and they have tried to recreate their little piece of England and English customs in Mexico. But really apart from Noemi and her brief mentions of her life before she got to High Place I'm not feeling it.
I'll read on...

In the gloom of the hollow, all Cindy could see were some huge unblinking eyes coming closer...friend or foe she didn't know?

But just as she snuggled in she felt a tingling throughout her body.

She spied a small hollow in a tree perfect for her size and she leapt in.

I just picked it up from my library and expect to start sometime next week. Apart from the cool name I don't have any idea what to expect.

Except from a distance she heard a dog bark, oh no!

"Oh no" she thought, "not again, I just hope this time I'm something a bit more kick*** than a mouse!"

The Fairy Godmother shook her fist exclaiming, "This isn't over!" before disappearing in a puff of lime green smoke.

Opening one eye (she'd closed her eyes in her panic) she snuck a peek at the Fairy Godmother and burst out laughing.

As the now menacing Fairy Godmother reached out her hand there was an almighty crash and burst of energy and she toppled to the ground.

Thanks for the Challenge, Mods. It was fun to travel somewhere in isolation.
