88432 Oh and I love the 80's movies theme. And The Lost Boys is great, I might have to see if I can re-watch it on Netflix. Anything vampire is fine with me .

88432 Hi everyone, Lisa checking in.

This is my 6th Uno, I love it. Especially looking for the colour covers. I renewed my love affair with the library this year which helps a lot.

About me... I'm a wife, Mum of 3 and Nanna to the five most amazing grand kids on the planet. And I'm not biased... at all, LOL. I live in Sydney Australia and we also have a dairy farm down south in New South Wales. I do admin/wages for the farm and am a full time carer to my adult son with Autism. Other than my family and reading my other big passion is travelling. Which is off the table at the moment, sigh. But that still doesn't stop me reading travel brochures and the Lonely Planet... and dreaming of the day when we're back in the air.

There's nothing I won't read but this year I've really been enjoying Regency Mysteries as well as historical fiction and traditionally I've been a big reader of romance. And like Sally I don't mind the odd space smut for a giggle between serious reads.

I've played Uno with Karen and Sally quite a bit, and looking forward to hanging out with some new friends as well. And Kelly, I'm old school as well - I also use the trusty exercise book.

Welcome new people! Amanda you've come to the right place if you want to talk books. Hope you enjoy the challenge.

I second that. You're not the only one Elizabeth. I've been preparing and putting off reading some books since the end of last year, LOL.

88432 Don't worry ladies. You'll have lots of help (and chat) along the way! It's a lot of fun and soon you'll be old hands looking for the letters and colour covers. And then there's the mini challenges for an added surprise.

Hi Sally!! Good to see you back again for Uno this year. Hopefully the Uno Gods or is that Pixie... will get the band back together, LOL.

We do not rely on Tin Eye this year...

It is a Captain's call, and if the Captain isn't sure, they ask the other captains."

Good one Jenny. That tin eye is crazy sometimes, LOL.

88432 Hey Mods,

Is it still the 50% Tin Eye rule for colours this year? Or Captain's Call?

Thought I'd just check before I start getting a head's up on the colour covers. Searching for those tricky ones is the best UNO fun!

88432 Hello, my name is Lisa and I'm a Uno addict. This will be my sixth Uno and I can't wait.

I read anything and everything.. but at the moment I'm loving historical mysteries and watching Bridgerton has made me have a hankering for re-visiting some historical romance. That Simon is mighty fine!

Book I can't wait to read in 2021 - Kingdom of Shadow and Light (Fever, #11) by Karen Marie Moning .

Books with best colour covers - Now that would be telling.. but I have been saving this one up for Uno. - Dark Tides (The Fairmile, #2) by Philippa Gregory

Looking forward to signing up and playing and chatting with fellow UNO addicts.

88432 Oh my.. I just finished this and it was the best book I've read this year.

It was so beautifully written and just kept getting better and better as it went along. I didn't want it to end.

Has this been optioned for a movie. I want one.. it would be brilliant.
88432 I finished. My favourite part was imagining that library... the endless books stretching out for ever with infinite possibilities. But the overall tone I found melancholy and that was how Nora was written and was probably as you all mentioned the author's intent. I'm glad she found some balance in the end. A book to ponder about the age old question - life is what you make it I guess.

88432 The Cat Who Talked Turkey (Cat Who... #26) by Lilian Jackson Braun

Find me a cover with a banquet on it
88432 I've starting and really enjoying the concept of The Midnight Library and the different paths one life could take. But it's a bit of a melancholy book so far, maybe not the best book for those already struggling at the moment. I think I am already getting what the theme of the book is going to be but maybe I'll be wrong and it will have a happy uplifting message by the end. Enjoying it though.
88432 Picking my copy up from the library tomorrow. Yay!
88432 Another vote for Jane Eyre. She is who first popped into my head when I saw this question.

And Jamie Fraser from Outlander the ultimate book husband.
88432 I'm No 1 in the queue at the library.. woo hoo!
