8565 Landed in The Great Gatsby...can somebody pick 4 books for me? If possible, books with less than 400 pages. (A few of my other picks are really long and I always have problems starting long books.) My shelf includes num of pages so you should be able to see the length of your pick. ;)

8565 Marina - Here are your picks! For some reason, all the books I picked for you have some sort of humor...:)

A Modest Proposal by Jonathan Swift - Funny but so right at the same time.
Fool by Christopher Moore - Have read other books by this author and I laughed a lot so I figured this would be the same
Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen - This is probably my second favorite Austen book. Her most lighthearted novel so I don't think it gets all the respect it should, I totally loved how she made fun of the whole Gothic genre!

Enjoy and have a wonderful new year!

8565 Ok, I'm finally done. :)
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

Ended up reading 68 books distributed as follows:

Books Read per Year Added
2010: 6
2011: 7
2012: 15
2013: 22
2014: 18

Next year my focus will be on books from 2011-2013 - quantity before age, LOL!

8565 That's why I didn't pick any books, Julie. I've found that whenever I put books in a list, it's likely I won't get to it.
Dec 27, 2015 09:08AM

8565 As I was preparing for this challenge, I decided to see what % of the books in my TBR were added per year. I was shocked to learn I added 68% of them in the years 2011-2013! It seems I used to add books more willy nilly than I do now.

Anyhow, I'll work on reading books from all sorts of years but I'll try to focus on 2011-2013. For a few years, I've been focusing on age, but I'll try to work on quantity. :)

8565 Congrats, Dee!

I managed to read a few more books so I'll update my list again when I'm done for the year. :)

8565 I confess this is the challenge I'm more excited about. I can't wait for the new year to start, LOL!

I struggle with Shakespeare too. I find that if I reading AND listening to the play at the same time works the best for me.
