I've heard great things about Uprooted but thanks for letting me know! I may get to it before September because it fits a team challenge I'm in.

8565 Here are the ones I have on my TBR. I'll definitely read Uprooted and maybe The Winter Long. It's time I catch up with that series.

Uprooted by Naomi Novik Daughter of the Forest (Sevenwaters, #1) by Juliet Marillier Of Beast and Beauty by Stacey Jay In the Night Garden (The Orphan's Tales, #1) by Catherynne M. Valente The Winter Long (October Daye, #8) by Seanan McGuire

8565 I read two books for this shelf and I rated them both 3 stars: Under His Command (Six-Alarm Sexy #1) by Kristine Cayne The Other Side of Us by Sarah Mayberry .

Neither was great but at least they're out of my TBR - both have been there since 2013. :)

8565 Finished Medicus (Gaius Petreius Ruso, #1) by Ruth Downie a mystery set in Ancient Rome. I enjoyed it but it took me a while to get the humor. The narration by Simon Vance was outstanding as usual. I own the next two books in the series so I'll definitely continue.

In the last month, I've read 3 books from 2010.

8565 I found another book I've read this month that fit this shelf: Say Yes to the Marquess (Castles Ever After, #2) by Tessa Dare , a funny historical romance. I gave it 3 stars - I laughed in moments but the book was just ok.

I loooved that book! I should re-read it one of these days.

Oh you didn't get it when they were giving it away some time ago? (It may have a long time ago though). That's how I got it.

Still haven't listened to it though but it's on my list!

I think she didn't write it because Elizabeth had had two proposals already and she just didn't want to fill the story with just proposal after proposal!

8565 When I was in my teens, one of my boyfriends was a GREAT fan of Crime and Punishment. I had read it and thought it was OK so he told me...wait 10 or 20 years to read it and you'll see what I mean.

I haven't re-read it yet but it's definitely on my list!

8565 Great shelf, Lyn!

Hubby and I watch it every year (well, I watch it and he watches it with me...he loooves the romance between Jane & Bingley.)

8565 Lahni wrote: "I really wish Austen would have had the final proposal scene written in more dialog and less 3rd person narrative. We wait so long for it and it really was a let down to hear how it happened rather than hear it happening! "

Agree 100%!

8565 Finished Fallen Too Far (Too Far, #1) by Abbi Glines and gave it 3 stars because the clusterfuck ending made some sense (before that, it was a 2-star.) The "hero" wasn't appealing to me at all and there were so many NA cliches that you wouldn't believe. Not sure if I'll continue reading because I'm tempted to see what happens next.

8565 Oh thanks, Susan! But I already found a book. It always surprises me what I have on my TBR, hahaha!

LOL, thanks!

8565 Right now I'm reading a book for the "space opera" shelf (from 2011!) but I'm not sure exactly what that means (a drama set in space maybe?) I'll have to Google it, LOL!

8565 Tien wrote: "Wow, D.G., I'm glad someone is getting a really good clean of their TBRs :)"

I'm doing great if I say so myself, LOL! Pretty much every book I've chosen in the last few months has been with this challenge in mind so I've read lots of good things off the TBR. Right now at I'm at 37 so I'm thinking I'll probably make 60 or 70 if I keep it up. The only thing is that I'll be reading a lot of obscure shelves! Right now I've had to go more than halfway through the first column of shelves as I'm trying not to do different spellings of the same shelf, i.e. if I've read Young Adult, I skip YA, etc.

8565 I don't know how you mothers do it! And you with so many, Lahni!
