Congratulations, Ashley!

And, don't worry about Parts 2 & 3. This is supposed to be fun and yet help with that ever growing TBR. Part 2 focuses on newer adds so it might go faster for you. I am still finishing up also, so I will be joining you in about a week with Part 2.

8565 LOST is designed to encourage the reader to look at the oldest books on the TBR rather than letting them languish. That is why it is allowed to DNF books on the LOST list for the year. Some books seem interesting when they are added to the TBR, but the reader may find when the book is attempted that it is no longer pertinent to that reader.

This is a small game...only 10 books for a year. However, some of us have found long overlooked gems through this game.

8565 Finished: Twelve Bar Blues for MM, The Ronin's Mistress for MM, To Be Queen: A Novel of the Early Life of Eleanor of Aquitaine for LOST

Starting: Medicus for PnM Settings (Time) and LOST 2019 (My LAST LOST book!)

Continuing: Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind: Informal Talks on Zen Meditation and Practice for Wheel 3 (although this is going slowly - owned)

8565 I read Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children. It had been on my TBR for quite a while, but I never seemed to get around to it.

It is the story of a young man who thought his grandfather's tales of his youth were made-up stories. A search for the meaning of his grandfather's dying words teaches him not only who he is but who his grandfather was. Loved the mix of fantasy and reality in this story.

Rating: 4*.

Nomination: I second the Supernatural nomination above.

Jayme, I count the due date from the date the book was obtained if that date is noted in the post. So...just note the day you got the book from the library and re-calculate the due date.

8565 Lusie wrote: "Is it okay if you read a book for the monthly shelf book in another month?

Do they have to be on the list or does it still count if they are tagged once for the monthly shelf?"

Lusie, I can answer the first question as I looked it up last night. The rules indicate that the monthly book needs to be read during the month the shelf is chosen and used in one of your Pick 'n Mix challenges. That leaves me out as, even though I have read the monthly book timely most of the months, I have not used it for my Pick 'n Mix.

Are we limited to one book a month for the monthly shelf?
