8565 Although I have already read a book for this shelf, it was not one that I had planned. I have finished Love Medicine. This book is subtitled "a novel" but reads more like a series of connected short stories. I gave it 3*.

8565 @LynnB: LOL

@Marina: I know, right?

@Lena: cheering you on. I am reading an anthology of paranormal stories on my Kindle...only it turns out to be an anthology of books...over 2000 pages! Three books down and only 25% through the anthology collection.

Ooh, like a task at SrC?"

Could be. I don't really remember, but I think it was yours.

Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind: Informal Talks on Zen Meditation and Practice for Wheel 3 (although this is going slowly - owned)

Love Medicine for July monthly shelf
The Three-Body Problem for current monthly shelf

Life is catching up with me over the past several weeks. My Mom died; I attended a conference (which was a blast); my dog got sick; and I have an AirBnB guest. Still to go: Mom's memorial and burial and a trip to see a travel trailer. Is it any wonder that I currently have 11 books (real, Kindle, and Audible) going, but none are finished?

Oops, sorry. I forgot that half the world is opposite my part of the world. Yesterday, my computer weather had the temp at 100 with a feels like temp of 110!

8565 Here's some books for you to consider, Coralie:

A Christmas Revelation - because it is so hot here that a cool season appeals

The Rhesus Chart - because this is a series and I love fantasy

Where Shadows Dance - because I love mysteries (another series)

Obviously, I chose these based on my own likes. However, I hope one of them appeals to you, too.

8565 Dree, if by DNF you removed them from your TBR, then yes!

The goal is to move those old books off your TBR. DNF implies you tried the book and found it was not tolerable. Works for me.

8565 Well, I went to a Leather conference this weekend. I fully planned to get the 40 pages read for discussion on Sunday, but it just didn't happen. I came home to a possible reservation and so had to work to get the house ready, and then the yard was knee-high (not really) and needed raking and mowing. So my reading got pushed aside.

My 4 other library books which are due on the 10th are short and expectedly easy reads - Solnit, Bradley, Rhys, and Spark.

Definitely will get to it today. I am glad to hear that it is a page turner also. Looking forward to getting started.
