Most welcome. It's the least I can do given the great karmic debt I owe the universe for my own RURD'ing. Or however the calculus of these debts works out.....

Frankly, this is about the only condition I've ever seen these things in. It's enough evidence to almost overcome my skepticism about everybody being intimidated by a mere page count.

82746 Because I'm in the mood, however, I will write about Dr. Lester Adelson, one of the more vivid ghosts in my library. He is housed in a first edition copy of The Rainbow Stories (1989) by William T. Vollmann. According to an ungainly note scrawled on the first page, this copy was a "Gift of author / Received / 22 March 1989," above which another note, penciled in by the bookseller from whom I purchased the volume, says it is "INSCRIBED TO DR. ADELSTON [sic] / WHO LET AUTHOR GO TO AUTOPSY."

82746 This listing appears to be incredibly inaccurate despite their claim ::
"Our strength is in our friendly and professional customer service, which includes accurate listings..." But, you might want to just drop them an inquiry because at US$128.40 I don't have to tell you it'd be a steal. [ note the publisher is listed as Transition Vendor (??) ]

82746 Vollmanniac Jeff Bursey has an essay on Bill in his forthcoming book, Centring the Margins: Essays and Reviews called "William T. Vollmann "'A realm forever beyond reach': Steinbeck and Solzhenitsyn as presences in William Vollmann's Expelled from Eden and Poor People".
