@Maria Yes, I'm not that behind but I wanted to be properly caught up.

😂 I wanted to listen to the book when I went for my nap and I started listening, however I was awake for only 2-3 pages 😅

CH9: Yes, it's nice that Hoa helped, but I also have a feeling like in the end things are not going to be that great. Like, he thinks of himself as human and seeks Essun's confirmation that he did good.
Does any of this comfort you? I hope so. I’m still human, I told you. Your opinion matters to me.
I feel like at some future point he'll do something and be "but that's how humans think and do" because he's too eager to prove his humanity.. and that whatever he does won't be that great for most of the people, maybe even for Essun.

CH10: Shaffa is resisting Father Earth (FE) while they were topside and now that they are so close it's getting harder.

I don't think FE should just let it go. The Syl Anagist people took parts of him so that they could use magic, they got greedy and wanted more and more.. and that hasn't changed with time because they are still doing it although I guess they aren't aware of the full story. But still, they kept using him without even saying sorry.. not that I think that saying sorry to FE would help at this point 😂

I read chapter 9, and can't anymore (not that I read much). Hopefully I can read most of the book tomorrow. I thought of finishing it tomorrow but I underestimated how tired I can be and have no will to do anything when I get home 😰😰

I listened to chapters 7 and 8 only, I don't have the energy for the Hoa chapter.

So many informations, and they confused me. This was not a good chapter to listen without following what's said in the book.

CH4. It get's confusing what's going on with Guardians of any kind 😅😂
So the original "normal" Guardians were on the lookout for strong Orogenes that could open the gate? If that was the case.. why didn't he or the fulcrum teach them more about their powers? Or is it that only the Orogenes with the potential were the ones they didn't kill? 🤔 And the contaminated Guardians are following Father Earth's will now and want to stop the return of the Moon.. I'm curious to why, and what his plans are.

Damn, it's not only Steel that wants to destroy the world, Nassun also. Now we know for sure that Nassun and Essun are on different sides, although this way it's more clearer because in the previous book we thought Nassun didn't know what really would happen if/when she returns the moon and that she's being manipulated.

I'm curious. It's mentioned that Hoa and the other tuners are alabaster white, but in the now chapters Essun mentiones Hoas dark skin... just how?

I got to the 4th ch.

I'm failing at this BR hard. I'm in somewhere in the past Hoa first chapter.

I wanted to catch up to today's chapters at home, but I was super tired since this morning and what was supposed to be an hour and a half nap turned into almost 4h hours of sleep.. and now I'm only a wake because my hair needs washing and it's going to be off to bed again for me.

Only managed to listen to the prologue and the first chapter this morning, hopefully I'll be able to catch up tomorrow. But either way I'm freaking loving it, this is definitely becoming one of my favorite series.

🙈 I haven't started it. I wanted to listen to it this morning and then I discovered that I don't have it on my phone.

Now that I finished the book.. I wonder did Nathair finally gather that he isn't on Elyon's side?

I finished my BR today so I'm free to start The Stone Sky on the 10th.

🤔 interesting. The only thing that comes to mind is that maybe leathery wings are some low solders while Calidus is more high ranking so that's why he looks more like the Ben-Elim..

but now I'm confused 😂😅 Is Ben-Elim like the name for the one that will lead the seven disgraces 😂 or is it the name for a "race"

Well now the voice that Camlin hears does sound like an Asroth thing.
I forgot what chapter, but also I was listening to it while walking so.. The time when Craf and the raven met 😂 I loved that part.. I'm curious how things will play out since the raven is Nemain's spy.
I'm happy Camlin found a place, people, where he likes being.

Although the "Before one, storm and shield shall stand" is something that Selina caught so I'm sure we haven't talked about that one.

And for Kadoshim.. I know I told you that I think, and am sure, Calidus is not the Ben-Elim. Every one thought he was because the Ben-Elim and Kadoshim are basically the same except to whom they serve. And look the passage under what it says. It fits to the prophecy.

Calidus looked at Nathair, the silence growing. Then he spoke. ‘The Seven Treasures are not of this world,’ he said. ‘They all are linked to the Otherworld, the cauldron most of all. It holds the power to bridge this world of flesh and the Otherworld.’
Veradis thought about that. The hairs on his arm goose-bumped. ‘For what purpose?’

CH13 It's sad how they made Nikolai "behave himself" by punishing Dominik, but it's nice that they became real friends. I just want to give Nikolai a big hug.

I started part two of the book. I thought I may regret rereading it because I mostly remember what happened, but it's so worth for Zoya and Nikolai banter.. or just Zoya and her snark 😂

Reply: I think Nathair is going to use Evnis and then get rid of him like he did with Romar and the Gadrai. Also, I haven't really thought about the giants.. was it explicitly somewhere mentioned that they serve Asroth? 🤔 Maybe we think of them on the evil side because the humans we were following told us they are bad and they had wars with them.

Reply: I kinda saw a bit of a spoiler-not spoiler while looking up the characters ages 😅 because why would I just read the book and find out things 🙈 But yeah, she's going to be in the middle of things.. I just hope she doesn't end up on the wrong side.
Oh, another thing. I mentioned in book 1 that somethings remind me of GoT.. Cywen makes me think of Aria.

Okay, so I went looking how it was written when Asroth spoke to Veradis, and it's told in a detached commaning way, and it's said "the voice in his head".. while with Cam you can see that he's thinking of himself in these thoughts "What am I doing here?" "Perhaps I should have stayed with Braith." If it was Asroth it would be "What are you doing here? you should be with Braith" or something like that.

It would be nice if Veradis switched to the good side but.. probably won't happen.. or maybe it would but in the very end of the series when he sees Nathair as the evil or something.

So.... no progress here?
