Thanks Marianne. I think from now on when I have my librarian hat on to make changes, I will take more notice of populating the character fields.
721 I wasn’t sure where to post this, but I wanted to share something I just stumbled upon. Google told me about it, not GR. Here on GR there are character profiles! I can’t see from the menus how to get to them, so I don’t know how extensive it is. I guess it comes from the book description, which is hit and miss for characters.

Here’s how I found out. I’m reading a Slough House short story and a minor character was mentioned. I couldn’t remember who it was, so I thought I’d get Google AI to remind me. Apart from the AI result there was a GR link to the character profile! On the GR page itself there’s not a lot of detail, but there is an index to all the other related characters.

Take a look if you like: https://www.goodreads.com/characters/...

I think this has potential to be really useful to forgetful readers like me!

I don’t know if this is accurate, but those covers send me a strong message ==> BookTok, steer clear!

721 Walking audiobook clubs - an interesting idea. I can’t decide whether I find it appealing or just pointless!

721 There’s a new Op Shop in my neighbourhood, so today I dropped in to donate some books and see what they had. Quite a good, eclectic range of books! I bought two from very familiar authors, but titles I’d never heard of. Turns out they are both 2nd novels.
